Notes

Besides the first word of a sentence, all proper nouns must be capitalized. Proper nouns

include:

1. Specific people’s names

2. Names of specific things

3. Names of places, regions and directions

4. Names of the days of the week, months and holidays

5. Names of historic periods, events and documents

6. Names of race, ethnic groups, nationalities and languages

7. Names of religions and their followers, sacred books and figures

8. Names of specific groups such as political, social, athletic, civic and actor groups

9. Names of business, government, educational and professional institutions

10. Titles
